This is a class that not only addresses the painting process through individual work from still life, photos or imagination, but looks at the concept of painting and art through the work of well known artists. We will tackle such topics as abstract painting vs representational painting, artists and their approach to painting, understanding why we create art and how to critique it and the reality of what art is good for. Students can bring acrylic OR oil materials.
