This is a class for you! This beginner class will teach how to “see to draw” to develop and fine-tune your drawing skills in addition to demonstrating the beautiful blending properties of soft pastels. The class focus will be on pastel painting techniques to develop the ability to see and represent a full range of light, shadow, and color on paper. Each week will introduce a new project with its own unique learning objectives. The last class will be dedicated to an open studio where students will have the opportunity to complete their drawings from previous classes or work on their own pastel painting with individual instructor guidance and feedback as desired. There is no critique, commentary, or competition, and students are encouraged to assess their own work.
