As artists we seek the truth, we try to ignite a thought or idea. We try to express light in our work through color and value. and we use light to connect to our viewer through emotion and impact. Light is both the beginning, the process and the result of what we do. This class will explain light. What it is, how we see it and how we best can reproduce it. We will discuss the limitations of paint and how we can work around these limitations to use light to express the emotions we so want to use, to connect to others. We will learn about gradation, defraction, reflection, simultaneous contrast, etc. How to use these and more to express light in your paintings Bring your paints and your visions and we will explore the light that is the world we live in.
