Consent
(Required)
I hereby accept ALL of the Mispillion Art League Policies and Procedures outlined on this Gift Shopt Form.
* All artists submitting work for the Gift Shop must be current members of the Mispillion Art League (MAL).
* An artist may exhibit up to a total of 25 pieces of art for the card rack (e.g., note cards or calendars), and up to 15
pieces of bin art (i.e., up to 5 pieces of art per bin) for display in the Gift Shop. Additionally, an artist may exhibit
art/ fine craft pieces, as space allows, that comply with the Gift Shop Rules and Requirements.
* The three-print rack/bin art categories are ‘Photography’, ‘Originals’, and ‘Prints’ (reproductions of your work).
* Print rack/bin art must be professionally packaged in a clear, protective wrap, and each piece must clearly state:
o Title Price Artist's name a Medium Labeled as "original" or "reproduction"
* Acceptable 2-D and 3-D items include but are not limited to: paintings, photography, giclée (frame size not to
exceed 9"x12"); small pottery, mosaics, jewelry/sets, fiber, wood, metal, note cards/sets (must be in plastic sleeves
or boxes).
* Gift Shop items (whether small works or rack/bin art) must be valued at or below $100. Although it is recommended
that small works be displayed in the Gift Shop, such works may also be displayed in an Exhibit.
* Each item for exhibit in the Gift Shop should be clearly marked with the following information visible to the
customer:
o Artist Name Medium Price "Original" or "Print" if applicable
* Labels should be neatly written or typed. MAL will not label your work
* All artworks must be for sale. Prices are set by the artist and no one, including the artist, is authorized to negotiate.
* All items for sale must be original and made by the submitting artist, not made from kits or combinations of mass-
produced objects or items.
* Complete this Gift Shop form, listing one item per line; sign below acknowledging MAL's Gift Shop Rules and
Requirements; and submit form with the artwork. Leave with the gallery host at the front desk.
* Display fixtures — easel, support base, etc. — can be furnished by the artist. These display fixtures are to be marked
with artist’s name and the Gift Shop Form should indicate if included with the art or not for sale.
* Items may remain in the Gift Shop for up to one year, but it is suggested that items be refreshed every 6 months.
Artists may add/remove items at any time during the year. Please update your GS form.
* All Gift Shop items must be removed in January after the last show of the year. MAL closes the second week of
January for the annual cleaning and painting of the entire gallery space. New items can be brought in during drop off
for the first show of the new year. Only items entered into the Gift Shop in December are eligible for re-entry in
January.
* Gift Shop entries may be picked up by a person designated by the artist with prior notification given to the Gift Shop
Manager or Operations Manager.
* The Exhibit Committee reserves the right to determine if the items submitted are appropriate for display. Please see
the Exhibit Rules and Requirements for examples of items that may be deemed unsuitable for display.
* MAL will retain a 20% commission on all sales of artwork and all sales must be processed through MAL.
* I agree that I will not hold Mispillion Art League, its volunteers, employees, or Board Members responsible for any
loss or damage, however caused, to any work submitted for sale and while such work is on display or in MAL's
possession.
* To comply with Federal tax laws, MAL is required to issue a Form 1099 to any artist who is awarded more than
$600 in any calendar year.
